Quakertown Alive! presents the grand opening of Synergis Technologies in the newly renovated Best Made Center on December 11 at 1:30pm. Please join us for the ribbon-cutting, president’s remarks, award presentation, and tour of the Best Made Center, the new home of Synergis Technologies, Inc. We welcome Synergis Technologies and applaud their employee decision to relocate to our business district. This innovative choice to be the first large company relocating to Quakertown  will enhance our current and future business community.

Gorski Engineering, a Collegeville-based design-build engineering firm has renovated the historic former Spinlon textile mill at 18 S. 5th Street in Quakertown.  Synergis Technologies is the first tenant in the newly minted Best Made Center. Quakertown Alive! has awarded Gorski Engineering its annual Historic Preservation Award in recognition of the Best Made Center as of adaptive reuse and historic preservation and as an economic generator in the downtown Quakertown community.

Synergis Technologies, LLC is a software technology company that was started in 1985 by David Sharp, Janet Kiehart and Bill Stamp, three Quakertown residents who began selling computer-aided design (CAD) software to engineering companies who were just starting to trade in their drawing boards for personal computers.
During its startup period, the company partnered with the Ben Franklin Technology Center, which provided incubator space for the new technology company. As demand for CAD software and services exploded in the mid-to late 80s, Synergis moved to Blue Bell, PA to further its reach into the Mid-Atlantic region. In December, 1995, spurred by an extreme winter storm and a desire to work closer to home, the founders brought the company back to Quakertown. They moved into 472 California Road, the former executive offices of Triangle Building Supplies, and stayed for 19 years.

During this time, Synergis grew from 45 to 105 employees and expanded into two complementary businesses: Synergis Engineering Design Solutions, one of the nation’s Platinum Autodesk Partners for CAD design software and professional services; and Synergis Software, the developer of Adept engineering document management software for such clients as FedEx Ground, Georgia Pacific, Dow Chemical, General Mills, and the United States Coast Guard.

A US-based company with employees working out of Quakertown and remotely across the country, Synergis recently moved its corporate headquarters into the Best Made Center, a newly renovated building and the former home of Roselon Industries Inc. The new space is a realization of a dream house that reflects the family and community-based values of the company.
Quakertown Alive! is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization founded on the principles of the national Main Street program.
