“Take more chances in life, especially when you are young”
You know the vibe you get when you first meet someone that tells you they’re conscientious, meticulous, and very detail oriented? That’s what hit me when I met Scott Stortz, Synergis’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Application Consultant. Scott joined our manufacturing solutions team six years ago and during that time has played a major role in our customers’ success with Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage.
In his role, Scott’s days are devoted to consulting with customers considering PLM solutions, supporting our current Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage customers, and most recently, performing data management software (Autodesk Vault) upgrades. Scott also works closely with our account managers to provide advice to customers on how to utilize PLM and data management applications together to improve their business operations.
Scott’s pragmatic approach to everything he does is evident in the results he achieves, and customers have come to appreciate him for his expertise and ability to get to the bottom of any technical challenge. Scott’s enjoyment in his role at Synergis comes from helping customers improve their engineering and business processes, and it shows.
Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University. He believes that working with, and learning from, supportive and intelligent people has led to his success in life and in his career. In looking back on his life, an important lesson learned for him is, “take more chances, especially when you are young.”
When asked about our Synergis Family Values, Scott shared that he embraces #10 – Celebrate your Mistakes. He says, “it’s the best way for me to learn, and not many companies acknowledge that mistakes are part of life and can be great learning opportunities.”
Scott and his partner, Erin, lived in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania until a few weeks ago. Now that all our PLM services are available remotely, Scott can work anywhere, so he and Erin recently moved to Vermont along with their “crazy” dog, Tucker, and Enzo, the cat. Like many of our employees, Scott is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, so we’re hoping that bodes well for him living in Patriots territory!
When Scott is not working, he loves to be “outside in nature.” He especially enjoys mountain biking, skiing, kayaking, and hiking – followed up with a delicious NEIPA (New England-style IPA) – all reasons he wanted to live in Vermont. Many don’t realize this, but mountain bike trail systems are often built and maintained exclusively by volunteers. As such, Scott works with several mountain bike clubs to build and maintain trails for all (mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, walkers, and other nature lovers) to enjoy!
