When you subscribe to Product Design & Manufacturing Collection you are entitled to Inventor HSM (Ultimate) and/or HSMWorks (Ultimate). Lately we have been receiving a few questions about this and I wanted to clarify what needs to be accomplished in order to use this product within Autodesk Inventor and/or SOLIDWORKS.
Inventor HSM: Designated solely for Inventor and you must subscribe to Product Design & Manufacturing Collection in order to receive this benefit.
HSMWorks: Designated for those who are in a mixed Autodesk Inventor and SOLIDWORKS environment. However HSMWorks only covers the SOLIDWORKS environment and you must subscribe to Product Design & Manufacturing Collection in order to receive this SOLIDWORKS benefit.
When it comes to downloading and installing this product, it may also be a little unclear in what needs to be done.
- Supporting versions of Autodesk Inventor and/or SOLIDWORKS must be installed first and the CAD application should be launched at least once.
- To run HSM under Inventor, you must access your Autodesk Account, expand your Collection, select and download Inventor HSM. Do not select HSMWorks to do this.
- To run HSM under SOLIDWORKS, you would select HSMWorks.
Until next time…
