Recently, we had a support case where there user could not open his Revit model. When trying to open the model he received a “Unable to open because of unresolved point references. Please contact Autodesk Support” error message.
Solution:
From the OPEN dialog, check the “Audit” box, then click Open
Once the project is opened, the user is not able to save the model and continue working.
Note: We still sent this model to Autodesk for troubleshooting because we wanted to find the cause of the issue. The resolution from Autodesk was that the error message was related to a previously inserted family.
That being said, if you happen to experience a similar issue, please review any previously inserted families for errors, and try loading them once again and carefully review all warnings.
