A few releases ago, Autodesk incorporated a variable that allows us to use an additional processor to improve the speed of ZOOM operations such as REGEN, and REDRAW.
If you’re having performance issues, this should be fine for your first stop. By default, this variable is set to 1, try changing it to 3 to see if performance is gained.
Variable:
- WHIPTHREAD
Values:
- 0 – No multi threading
- 1 – Regeneration multithreaded processing only
- 2 – Redraw multithreaded processing only
- 3 – Regeneration and redraw multithreaded processing
Note: This enhancement applies to zooming in and out where drawings need to be regen or redraw.
