Announcement
August 7, 2014
Autodesk announced earlier this year that as of February 1, 2015, upgrade pricing will go away. This means that you will lose any value to your licenses and will need to purchase new licenses in the future at full price.
We have received a lot of questions about this announcement, so we wanted to help clear up some details…
Q: Will I need to purchase new licenses if I am on Autodesk Maintenance Subscription?
A: If you have Subscription attached to your licenses, you do not need to upgrade your licenses as the new versions will automatically be available to you. If you will need additional licenses, you would need to purchase those and add Subscription in order to remain on the latest version for all licenses.
Q: What if I don’t have current Autodesk Maintenance Subscription?
A: You will be able to remain on the version of the software you own as long as you like. If you want the option of moving to a newer version, you can contact us about upgrading now to see if you qualify for an upgrade or legacy trade-in discount (see below).
If you wait until after February 1, 2015, you will need to purchase a new license in order to move to a more current version.
Q: If I upgrade, can I stay on the version I am currently working on or do I need to use the 2015 software?
A: The Previous Version Rights benefit of Maintenance Subscription (if available for your product) gives you the flexibility to choose the release you use, either the older version you have or the latest release. With Maintenance Subscription, you can choose to work on software up to three versions back.
Q: What if we cannot afford to upgrade now?
A: Autodesk is making is easy for you to upgrade now with Upgrade and Legacy promotions and a 0% or low-rate financing. See below.
Q: I have seats of LT Autodesk products, can I upgrade them with the current Autodesk promotion?
