The Synergis Student Architecture Competition winner is up to you!

The top three competition entries have been chosen by our team. Making the choice for the top submissions was more difficult than in the past and created a lot of heated discussion among our engineers. More entries were received this year than ever before. The project is to create an Arts Center on a prepared site in Philadelphia, PA.
So it is now your time to vote. Go to our Facebook page and ‘like’ the one you want to win!  If you have questions on what the requirements were, please see our Competition Guidelines to understand the challenges required for the project entries.

Here are the finalists in alphabetical order by school:

School: High Point Regional High School

Students: Liz Howe and Abby Reza

Teacher: Ben Kappler

comprezahowe3High Point High School’s submission was based on research. They took time to find the case studies of similar buildings to inspire ideas for their project. They also incorporated a space for rental which would create additional income from outside companies and organizations to rent the space when it is not in use. The amphitheater is set in the back and keeps the curve of the building.

School: Montgomery High School

Student: Miranda Ford

Teacher: Tim Leicht

compmirandaMontgomery High School sends another competitor this year. Miranda took this project on by herself this year and created a design that includes a rooftop garden, a focus on sustainability and an open chalkboard shaped like the Philadelphia city-scape to allow everyone to leave their mark. Miranda provided the required Revit file and an overview explaining her design.

School: Twin Valley High School

Students: Casey Cloonan, Dana Ciffarelli, Marissa Deighan

Teachers: Courtney Moyer and Paul Bowman

compmoyer1Twin Valley High School sent in a project by three students that have a lot of creativity. In this design, the students have created fantastic renderings of their design and also incorporated a dome theatre which creates unique spaces and aesthetic individuality. The students included a Powerpoint to explain their design process and choices.
