Last year, Autodesk asked us if we would like to take part in a project at Penn State University with PMC to laser scan a building inside and out.  Two of our Solutions Engineers, Bob Baylor and Todd Schmoock, visited Penn State and worked with a team from PMC (Production Modeling Corporation) to use Autodesk software and Allpoints Systems to visualize the layout of their industrial machines and workflow.  Watch the short video below to see how they did it and the result of the rendered design from the scanners.  Points, measurements and the ability to make changes on real drawings will leave you wondering why anyone would use measuring tape in a factory again.
Do you manage a factory floor?  How would a full design with all your equipment maximize your ability to find the best factory layout by reducing waste in time and resources?
