Announcement
January 3, 2013
Recently, Autodesk announced a “greener” method to deliver software. Soon, electronic delivery will be the standard method by which you will receive your upgrades to the most efficient workflows and features. Whether purchasing a new license or getting the newer versions through your Autodesk Subscription Contract, your automatic delivery method will be via Electronic License Delivery.
If you purchase new products, you have a transition period (December 3 – March 15, 2013), in which you will continue to have the choice of ordering a serialized box offered today, or an ELD license with an additional optional un-serialized (physical copy) media kit. After this transition period, customers will receive a notification email from Autodesk with the information needed to download.
If you are currently on Autodesk Subscription, Autodesk will notify you when a new release is out via a notification email.
Autodesk’s Notification Email
Whether you are a Subscription Customer or not, Autodesk will send a notification email when you have upgrades or products available for download. Please keep this email for your records, it will contain:
- Serial Number(s)
- Links to access the Software Media
- A consolidated license certificate as an PDF attachment
Still need physical media?
You can still receive physical media (delivered via a default method of USB, CD or DVD), however you will need to make the request after you receive Autodesk’s Notification Email that a new download is available. You can find instructions on requesting the download on How to Request Product Media on the Autodesk Subscription Center if you are a Subscription Customer. If you are not sure who your firm’s Subscription Manager is or run into any problems with the site, please contact us. We would be happy to walk you through Subscription Center or even request the media for you. We are here to help you stay ahead.
