Announcement
October 31, 2012
Each month, Synergis employees decide on an organization for the company to focus on to give back to. This year, Synergis has given back to the community in several ways. We have donated food and cash to Food Banks, we have supported local animal shelters and also hosted 2 blood drives. In September, we made it even more personal.
Jim Law, Project Manager for AEC Solutions, met a great friend back in high school, Joey, who had a tragic accident and since high school has been in a wheel chair. For more than 30 years, Joey’s mother has cared for him faithfully and lifts Joey to transport him everywhere he goes. However, with age she is losing her ability to carry him, so Jim Law and some of his high school friends decided to get together to raise money for a handicapped accessible van with a chair lift to make this easier and safer for mom.
We are proud to say that our employees and company donated $2k towards the cost of the van, and with an additional Facebook page, a Beef and Beer Night organized by Joey’s friends and family, he is now the proud owner of the van! We know that our donations always go to good places, but this one was personally important to our team.
If you would like to learn more about Joey, see the story here.
October Give Back: Fido’s and Felines – We raised goods and money to donate to this a non-kill shelter that took in a litter of kittens who were stranded outside our building. As of today, all five of the kittens have homes and we are still collecting donations.
November Give Back: Quakertown Food Bank – We will be donating to our local food bank for the holiday season.
