Autodesk Navisworks project review products are at the heart of AEC building information modeling (BIM) and plant design workflows. They facilitate coordinated real-time visualization for validation, simulation, and analysis of 3D design project performance.
The Autodesk Navisworks family comprises three 3D design project review products and a free viewer application:
Autodesk® Navisworks® Freedom software
The free* viewer for NWD and 3D DWF™ files. Use Navisworks Freedom to extend the whole-project view to all project stakeholders, helping to improve communication and collaboration. Multi-disciplinary models created in building information modeling (BIM), digital prototype (DP), and process plant design applications can be combined into a single integrated project model and published into the NWD format using Autodesk® Navisworks® Manage or Autodesk® Navisworks® Simulate software. The published file provides access to model hierarchy, object properties, and embedded review data, including viewpoints, animations, redlines, and comments.
Autodesk® Navisworks® Review software
Extends access to existing design data to drive insight and predictability to improve productivity and project quality. Combine 3D design data created in building information modeling (BIM) applications—such as the Revit ® family of products—with geometry and information created with other design tools for real-time visualization and collaborative review, regardless of file size or format. Dynamic navigation and an intuitive review toolkit improve understanding of even the most complex 3D models. Entire project models can be published and freely* viewed in NWD and 3D DWF™ file formats to provide valuable digital assets during and after construction.
Autodesk® Navisworks® Manage software
A comprehensive review solution for analysis, simulation, and communication of project information. Multi-disciplinary design data created in building information modeling (BIM), digital prototype (DP), and process plant design applications can be combined into a single integrated project model. Interference management and clash detection tools help design and construction professionals anticipate and avoid potential problems before construction, minimizing expensive delays and rework. Navisworks Manage combines spatial coordination with the project schedule to deliver 4D simulation and analysis. Entire project models can be published and freely viewed in NWD and 3D DWFTM file formats.
Autodesk® Navisworks® Simulate software
Provides advanced tools for analysis, simulation, and communication of project information. Multi-disciplinary design data created in building information modeling (BIM), digital prototype (DP,) and process plant design applications can be combined into a single integrated project model. Comprehensive 4D simulation, animation, and photorealism capabilities enable users to
demonstrate design intent and simulate construction, helping to drive insight and predictability. Real-time navigation combines with a review toolset to support collaboration among the project team. Entire project
models can be published and viewed in NWD and 3D DWF™ file formats to provide valuable digital assets during and after construction.
