Sustainability for Manufacturers: Driving
Profitability and Growth (PDF
- 320KB)
Sustainability is an increasingly common theme in the business and trade press, at conferences, and
in everyday conversation. This white paper encourages manufacturers to integrate sustainability into
their corporate strategy to drive both profits and growth.

Migrating Content Center Libraries to ADMS (pdf - 274Kb)
The purpose of this document is to provide instructions for the migration of user Content Center libraries created in Inventor 10 into ADMS (Autodesk® Data Management Server) 2008 for use in Inventor 2008.
Sheet Metal Design: Understanding Corner Relief Design Flexibility
(pdf - 181Kb)
The enhanced Flange and Contour Flange commands in Inventor 2008 now allow selection of multiple edges and loops that result in a single flange feature. They also provide an option to automatically miter and create corner relief on adjacent flanges created using co-planar edges. Any change made to the Sheet Metal Style parameters such as miter gap or relief shape applies to all corners.
Creating
Bent Frame Members in Autodesk Inventor 2008 (PDF
- 320KB)
When it comes to designing anything with a steel frame, the time will
come when it is necessary to make use of bent frame members. Bent frame
members may be used for ease of manufacture, aesthetics, or for structural
reasons. Autodesk Inventor has a toolset called Frame Generator that
is geared towards frame design.
Leveraging
the New Sketch Tools
in Autodesk® Inventor™ 2008 (pdf - 312Kb)
In today’s market, with tight deadlines
and strong competition, designers need to be as effi cient and
productive as possible. To meet this need, 3D modeling
is becoming commonplace.
Autodesk® Inventor™ software helps designers reach
the next level of effi ciency by making it easier and more
effective to reuse design data, convey design intent,
and manage relationships between 2D sketch objects.
Inventor
Performance Benchmarks (pdf - 137Kb)
A series of benchmark tests proves that the performance of Inventor
for typical day to day design work excels against its competitors.
This is true for traditional mid-range systems like SolidWorks
but the results against so-called “high end” systems—CATIA,
Pro/E, and NX are exceptional. Highlights include:
- Against CATIA, Inventor uses half the memory resources and is 2-4 times faster. In pattern feature creation, assembly editing, and drawing view creation Inventor runs almost 5 times faster.
- Compared to Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, Inventor uses half the memory resources and is 1.5 times faster.
- Compared to UG NX, Inventor is 2-4 times faster and in some case 20 times faster.
- Compared to SolidWorks, Inventor is 3.6 times faster for large assembly handling and uses less memory.
