Template File Development

Template files in AutoCAD Electrical store many of the styles and settings that the product leverages as part of its productivity enhancements. The “out-of-the-box” settings may differ from your corporate drafting standards, which can slow initial product learning and acceptance. Synergis will help define these AutoCAD drafting settings by implementing AutoCAD Electrical custom templates. Those using AutoCAD Electrical will be using the proper styles and settings right from the start.

Creating corporate standard template files includes the following activities:

1) Company Standard Starting Geometry
2) Customizing Drawing Configuration Settings
3) Customizing Panel Configuration Settings
4) Customizing Special Wire Layer Settings
5) Reviewing Current Title Block Attribute Settings

 

 

Titleblock and Project Linking Files

Save time by using AutoCAD Electrical template linking files to populate attributes automatically.

Using the Project Linking File process, we will populate your drawings with the proper data. Synergis will link your AutoCAD Electrical standard template using AutoCAD Electrical template linking files.

Synergis will assist with performing the following tasks:
1) Creating a text file that links the titleblock attributes
2) Creating a text file that makes unique project lines for reporting and auto filling of titleblock attributes
3) Test these files by pushing data to titleblock attributes

Note: Customer must provide an AutoCAD standard template file(s) with defined attributes to perform this step.

Standard Files Organization

Upon implementation, Synergis will locate all of the required files in your specific environment.Determining Standard File locations require the following tasks:
1) Determine whether files should be local or on network
2) If network, modify the environment file (wd.env) so it points to the correct locations
3) Move files to correct locations

 

Standard Symbols Library Creation Instruction

Develop a good understanding of how to create symbols

A good understanding of how to create intelligent AutoCAD Electrical symbols is critical as your company implements and deploys the solution. It not only ensures company specific symbols can be created, but also ensures changes to existing symbols can be maintained to meet future requirements.

We will cover the following items during our Standard Symbol Library Creation instruction:
1) Create two or three company specific symbols
2) Modify the file to accommodate the new schematic symbols
3) Modify the file to accommodate the new panel symbol
4) Add these symbols to the menu file.

The AutoCAD Electrical Installation Package is three-day engagement and is non-refundable. This packaged offering includes the minimum setup to ensure a successful implementation of AutoCAD Electrical. Additional time remaining after all steps of the process have been completed can be used toward other areas not addressed, such as Language Conversion and Default Pick List, or can be used toward a future Synergis Manufacturing Solutions onsite service.
