AutoCAD Map 3D Test Drive

Imagine being able to natively access spatial data stored in relational databases, files, and web-based services allowing for easy management of large geospatial data sets.  Picture the benefits of the having the freedom to unlock spatial data anywhere in your organization with direct simultaneous read and write access to most relational databases.  Visualize the improvement to workflow processes made by having easier ways to create users, define schemas, and move data between different data stores.

Join us for a hands-on overview of AutoCAD Map 3D to experience how this powerful solution provides a whole new level of speed and performance, allowing you to achieve unprecedented productivity.

AutoCAD Map 3D is the software at the heart of the Autodesk approach to engineering GIS. It brings together engineering and geospatial capabilities within a single tool that combines the power of a full CAD system with the efficiencies of a GIS. In this hands on Test Drive attendees will see how the comprehensive CAD functionality and GIS tools in Map 3D can help firms edit, manage and utilize geospatial information.

Attendees will see how AutoCAD Map 3D can help their organizations start saving time and money by using engineering GIS to eliminate time consuming data conversion, error-prone data redundancy, and the loss of valuable engineering precision. They will also see how Map 3D can reduce reliance on expensive traditional GIS software.

The exercises will cover:

  • Translating Data and Drawing Cleanup
  • Creating and Theming Maps
  • Connecting to and Editing Geospatial Data
  • Working with DEM Data and Raster Images
  • Buffer Analysis, Joining Data
  • Defining a Schema Feature Class and Working with Metadata
  • Publishing Data to a Map Book, MapGuide Site, or to a DWF file
